Long weekend...

1. Building cubbies (or at least attempting to - rope is very hard to secure sheets to trees, didn't you know?)
2. Chook resort, moved over the weekend to the next bed down the line
3. Potatoes that came out of said bed
4. Using up the eggplant offerings. I was going to freeze them after reading Celia's post, but decided to turn them into a moussaka instead. Yum!
5. Sunday morning pickings
6. Enjoying the sunshine..
7. ..by knitting, knitting, knitting! I'm on a bit of a washcloth binge at the moment. ;)

If you were long weekending I hope it was enjoyable!

  2. looks lovely.....
can you please tell me what you used to make your chook resort? I definately need to make a new one for my girls to holiday on our empty garden beds - the old one they would just fly out of!
    thank you.

    1. Hi Tracey, the 'resort' is made out of tip scrounged poly irrigation pipe and thin gauge chicken wire. It was made after I read Linda Woodrow's Permaculture Home Garden. The perfect solution to having chooks in the veggie patch! This is is about it's fifth year of use - it has definitely exceeded my expectations! :)
