Down to Earth - In print and in person

During the week I was fortunate enough to catch up with Rhonda Hetzel at a book signing in Castlemaine to celebrate the launch of her book!

The book, titled Down to Earth is what Rhonda describes as a 'guide to simple living'. Even though I'm not yet half way through, I'm enjoying the sound advice she offers here, especially the tips and revelations on housework! I'm looking forward to making my way to the home chapters - green cleaners, recipes and vegetable gardening...

Rhonda was friendly and chatty and her husband Hanno is just the sweetest man imaginable. Both even seemed to overlook my nervousness at being in such close proximity to them!
(Thanks for taking the picture, Hanno!)

While I was there, I also happened to meet Linda from The Greenhaven Good Life blog and catch a glimpse of her lovely children. I enjoy reading Linda's posts and hearing what her and her busy family get up to.

Wishing Rhonda all the best on the release of her book. She is indeed a true inspiration!

  13. Christine I was reading your blog and Rhonda Jean's blog. Love the photo but with very selfish thoughts. Christine did you make your lovely jacket?
if so and if you have the pattern could you put it up on your blog? I would love a couple of them they would be so right for our warmer winters days in Queensland.
I too am enjoying my copy of Rhonda's book.

    1. Ahh, so sorry I'm unable to provide a pattern - the top was op-shopped. There would be loads of similar patterns on ravelry I imagine - maybe worth a look? ;)

    2. Christine - thanks for answering so quickly. Well next to you being able to give me the pattern, the fact that you got such a lovely little jacket from the op shop pleased me no end. I am a great op shopper and have been for many years since money was scarce when our children were small. I still op shop but more for a hate of waste and wanting to lessen my ecological footprint.
I enjoy your blog very much - thanks for blogging.

  15. That's so lovely, it's funny how we all feel though we know each other so well via our blogs that when you have a face to face meeting it can be a little nerve racking. I can't wait to read Rhonda's book, I'm second on my library wait list at the moment : )
